The most fundamental and widespread mechanism is the use of adjustable leveling feet. These are typically screw-in rubber feet located at the bottom corners of the cabinet. They serve a dual purpose: they protect flooring from scratches and, more importantly, allow for precise leveling on uneven surfaces. By ensuring all four feet are firmly planted on the ground, the cabinet's center of gravity is stabilized, significantly reducing the risk of rocking or tilting.

For larger cabinets, such as deluxe racing games or oversized fighting game stations, a dedicated stabilizing bracket or anti-tip bar is often employed. This is a metal bar that extends from the rear of the cabinet's base, effectively increasing its footprint. This bar acts as a counterbalance, preventing the cabinet from tipping backward when a player might lean on it or pull up on the controls with excessive force. This is a crucial safety feature for taller, top-heavy units.

The cabinet's inherent design and weight distribution also play a vital role. Manufacturers strategically place the heaviest components, like the CRT monitor and power supply, low within the cabinet's body. This creates a low center of gravity, making the unit naturally resistant to tipping. A wide, solid base further complements this principle, providing a stable foundation that is difficult to upset during normal use.

In some commercial settings, an additional security measure is the use of wall mounting brackets. These are metal straps or brackets that physically tether the top rear of the arcade cabinet to a wall stud. This is the most definitive anti-tilt solution, completely eliminating any possibility of the cabinet falling forward, which is essential for public safety in high-traffic arcades.

Finally, integrated locking systems for doors and control panels contribute to overall stability. By securely locking these access panels, the structural integrity of the cabinet is maintained. A loose or open panel can shift the weight distribution and compromise the cabinet's rigidity, making it more susceptible to wobbling. Together, these mechanisms—leveling feet, anti-tip bars, smart weight distribution, and secure panels—work in concert to ensure every game session is safe and stable.
