For arcade enthusiasts and business owners, understanding the warranty on a machine is crucial for protecting their investment. The most common types of warranty policies for arcade machines typically vary based on whether the unit is new, refurbished, or used.

The standard and most comprehensive warranty for a new arcade machine is the Parts and Labor Warranty. This policy typically covers the cost of both replacement components and the service fees for a certified technician to perform repairs. Coverage often spans one year, but can sometimes be extended.

Another critical type is the Cabinet Warranty. This specifically covers the physical structure of the machine—the wood, artwork, laminate, and controls like joysticks and buttons—against defects in materials or workmanship. It ensures the cabinet itself remains in good condition.

For the most vital and expensive component, the Monitor Warranty is essential. This policy covers the CRT or LCD display, addressing issues like dead pixels, color degradation, or complete failure. Given the high cost of monitor repair or replacement, this warranty is highly valuable.

Many sellers also offer a separate PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Warranty. This covers the main game board, the brain of the arcade machine. Since PCBs are complex and repairs are specialized, this warranty provides peace of mind against board failures.

It is important to note that warranties for refurbished machines are often shorter, typically 90 days to 6 months, and may cover only specific parts. Used machines frequently are sold "as-is" with no warranty. Always read the terms and conditions carefully to understand what is included and what is considered wear and tear or accidental damage, which are usually excluded from coverage.
