Arcade machines, especially older models with CRT monitors, often face display calibration issues that can affect gameplay quality. The most common problems include screen flickering, color misalignment, geometry distortion, burn-in, and sync issues.

1. Screen Flickering: Caused by aging capacitors or unstable voltage. Replacing faulty capacitors or adjusting the power supply usually resolves this.

2. Color Misalignment: Occurs when RGB guns are unbalanced. Adjusting the color pots on the monitor chassis or using a degaussing coil can help.

3. Geometry Distortion: Warped or stretched images may require tweaking the horizontal/vertical hold or replacing worn-out deflection yoke components.

4. Burn-In: Permanent image retention from static graphics. While irreversible, reducing brightness or using screen savers can mitigate further damage.

5. Sync Issues: If the screen rolls or loses sync, check the video signal cables or adjust the sync potentiometer on the monitor board.

Regular maintenance and proper calibration tools, like a CRT tester or colorimeter, can prevent these issues and extend the display's lifespan. For persistent problems, consulting a professional arcade technician is recommended.
